Congratulations to Ian Knight for his win of this photography award. Ian won the The British Photography Awards Architecture category.
You will have seen Ian’s images as part of our extremely popular Showpeople of North Staffordshire Exhibition which ran in Appetite’s Newcastle Common this summer.
It was a great opportunity for the public to get a behind the scenes glimpse into the lives of the travelling show communities, both circus and fairground. The exhibition explored the links between both circus and fairground communities as well as charting the rich history and links to the North Staffordshire area through Ian’s wonderful photographs which wonderfully complimented audio recorded interviews.
