Our fabulous NEW EXHIBITION ‘The David Cohen Street Entertainment Exhibition’ is now open & can be visited on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at the Philip Astley Centre (11am – 4pm)
‘The Street Entertainment Exhibition’ originally created by Town Planner David Cohen, exhibited at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors London, in 1981, accompanied David’s book ‘A History of Street Entertainment – The Buskers’ After all these years unseen we have the pleasure to bring it back for public viewing here in the heart of Philip Astley’s birthplace, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Thanks to David’s widow Janet Cohen, comedy entertainer Dingle Fingle and our Andrew Van Buren for making this possible.
Philip Astley Centre, 25 Merrial St, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Newcastle ST5 2AE.
