Philip Astley Project Wins Tourism Award

The Philip Astley Project Wins Tourism Award.

The Philip Astley Project has just won the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Award for Best Newcomer. The inscribed lead crystal cut glass award was collected by Philip Astley Project working committee members Trudi Barnard and Delyth Copp at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards Ceremony on behalf of the Philip Astley Project team.

The audience reaction to the award announcement was wonderful with prolonged applause and cheers, the entire event was such a special occasion and is a wonderful way of celebrating all that is great about the county of Staffordshire.

Andrew Van Buren said: “After all of the hard work it is wonderful that not only has Enjoy Staffordshire recognised the contribution of our project to the area and its tourism, but also can see the future potential and benefits that our celebrating Philip Astley can bring to not only Newcastle-under-Lyme but also Stoke-on-Trent and indeed Staffordshire”.

Plans and events are already being discussed for the future development and ongoing drive in creating new opportunities and events for the area, from further talks, lectures, exhibitions, shows, workshops, festivals, expanding the heritage trail and even a central hub of circus learning.
