Philip Astley Projects CIC bring your pupils a fun, interactive and engaging opportunity to discover the story of Philip Astley, his wife Patty and their legacy in our school cross-curricular Philip Astley Circus Skills Workshops.
So much more than ‘just a circus workshop’, they are an interactive performance that introduces the current and historic legacy of Philip Astley. Discussion includes the local Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire importance of Philip Astley along with the international significance of Philip Astley’s circus legacy.
Philip Astley Circus Skills Workshops have options for all age groups ranging through Primary and Secondary school, College and University.
Pupils learn about Philip Astley and his legacy, discuss historic and cultural importance, watch thrilling performances of various circus skills, including unicycling and magic, while participating in hands-on taught activities. Learning plate spinning, diablo, juggling, hula hoop and so much more.

Recent school feedback:
* Thank-you very much for yesterday’s excellent workshop. The activities were ideally suited to our students and the pace and content of the session was spot on. Will highly recommend as would our students – one of whom said they didn’t want it to end! I appreciated how quick and easy it was to organise, too. Thanks again.
