Main Performance space

A inspirational, circus themed creative space that can be set up for events, workshops, parties, talks, film shows, exercise and craft classes, meetings and more. 

Can accommodate up to 60 people standing and 40 people seated. Classes and workshop numbers will vary according to type.

Ground floor, wheelchair accessible.

Tables and chairs are provided and we can lay the room out to suit your requirements.

First Floor Meeting Rooms

Bright, airy rooms, perfect for small meetings, clubs and societies, rehearsal space, tutorials, one to one counselling, art and craft groups, workshops, educational activities, with access to breakout area.

All rooms are flexible spaces that can be adapted for a variety of needs, in a warm, safe environment. Tables and chairs provided which can be set out to your requirements.

  • Air conditioning/heating (individual controls for each room)
  • Adjustable LED lighting
  • Flip chart stand

Sizes
The Orange room: 4.8m x 4.3m, carpeted floor.
The Blue room: 4.3m x 4.7m, carpeted floor

Kitchen/breakout area:
4.5m x 4.5m, vinyl floor, includes sink, microwave, kettle and crockery.

Entrance area: 2.5m x 4.8m. The toilets for this floor are situated off this area.

There is a 10% discount for block bookings of 6 or more dates.

Availability
The performance space is available for hire on Monday and Tuesday daytime and evenings from 4.30pm. Sundays by special arrangement.

Parking and transport

The closest parking to the centre is the Ryecroft car park, which is £1 for 24 hours after 1pm. NB The nearby new multistorey car park is due to open in January 2025.

The surrounding area
The Centre is located in Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre with its range of shops, bars and eateries, award winning floral displays, hotel, cinema and the six day a week ‘Stones’ market. Some twelve minutes walk away is the Brampton Museum.

Catering 
We can provide tea/coffee/water and biscuits. There are a number of cafes in Merrial Street and Fogg Street who can provide catering for events and we have an arrangement with Fireaway Pizza to supply fresh, tasty pizzas at a discounted rate.

Environmental
sustainability
All our rooms are eco-friendly, powered by an air-source heat pump, with LED lighting. We use glass and crockery to reduce single use plastics.

Additional support and access
We regularly host groups with a range of special needs, so please get in touch to discuss any specific requirements. Our ground floor is fully accessible for wheelchairs. We can also offer a guided tour of the Philip Astley centre and circus skills workshops for a small additional cost.
