Carol Gandey visits the Philip Astley Centre
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible strength, vision, and resilience of women everywhere! Remembering all the Queens of the Circus including the first lady of the Circus ring Patty Astley.
It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the inspirational Carol Gandey, Director of Gandey World Class Productions, to the Philip Astley Centre today. She was thrilled to see our current exhibition on the history of Gandeys Circus– a legacy of passion, performance, and perseverance.
To those who haven’t visited yet, come along and explore our current exhibition at the Centre!
The next exhibition of ‘Circus Comes to Town’ will begin on 17 April with posters showing visits of various circus from Berlin to Chipperfields, Gandeys, Billy Smarts, Zippos to Zyair and more, it will also highlight the loss of circus sites around the area through redevelopment.
Location: 25 Merrial Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 2AE.
